Introduction to GeorgiaVIEW Vista This is an introductory workshop that focuses on the basic skills needed to begin using GeorgiaVIEW Vista at GCSU at the Course Section Designer/Instructor level.

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • What GaVIEW has to offer
  • Tools available in GaVIEW
  • Access & navigating the interface
  • Course Design Considerations(basics)
  • Building the basics
  • Grade book & File Manager
Prerequisites: Knowledge of basic computer skills and how to access the Internet
GaView Assessments (a.k.a. Quizzes 101) This is an introductory workshop that focuses on the basic skills required to build exams, quizzes, surveys, and self tests in GeorgiaVIEW .

This Hands-on Session will cover:

  • Types of assessments available in V8
  • How to create an assessment
  • Types of questions available for assessments
  • How to create questions in an assessment
  • on-line assessment considerations & best practices
Prerequisites: Previous experience with GeorgiaVIEW .
Engaging Students - Threaded Discussion, Blogs, Journals This workshop focuses on how to use the Discussion tool in GeorgiaVIEW and how it can be used to engage your students in on-line discussions

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • Threaded discussions, class blogs, and journals
  • Creating, organizing, and managing discussion postings
  • Best practices
Prerequisites: Previous experience with GerogiaVIEW.
Getting Started with GeorgiaVIEW This is an introductory workshop that focuses on the basic skills needed to begin using GeorgiaVIEW at GCSU.

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • Accessing & navigating the interface
  • What tools are available in GaVIEW
  • Course design considerations
  • How to add content
  • Course gradebook
  • Course file manager
Prerequisites: Knowledge of basic computer skills and how to access the Internet
Organize Your Course With Learning Modules in GaVIEW This workshop focuses on the Learning Module tool in GeorgiaVIEW and how it can be used to organize course content into single unit learning events. Learning modules provide an effective means for guiding students through the content.

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • Adding and navigating the LM interface
  • Adding and organizing content using the ORPA model
  • Modifying the TOC
  • Best practices
Prerequisites: Previous experience with GerogiaVIEW
Assignments: Building Assignments in GaVIEW This workshop focuses on the Assignment tool in GeorgiaVIEW and how it can be used to organize class assignments and provide an electronic "drop box" for your students to upload their assignment files.

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • Adding and navigating the Assignment tool interface
  • Creating Assignments
  • Specifying release criteria for assignments
  • Best practices
Prerequisites: Previous experience with GerogiaVIEW.
What's New in GeorgiaVIEW - Moving From V3 to V8 This workshop will explore the new version of GeorgiaVIEW - version 8 (V8) - its functionality, tool availability, and new features. Topics pertaining to the migration time-line and the migration of current GaVIEW Vista content to V8 will also be discussed

This Hands-on Session will cover:
  • Accessing and navigating the V8 interface
  • Improvements made to existing GaVIEW tools
  • New GaVIEW V8 tools
  • Overview of the migration project
  • Migrating content using the SMART tool
